Let's look at the CO2 level trend since 1960: CO2 level trend

The CO2 level is measured Mauna Loa in Hawaii in the pacific ocean.

Let's look at the north pole ice cover:

Current State of Sea Ice Cover (NASA)

Atmospheric CO2 is constantly increasing, nothing so far has slowed the increase in CO2 and changed the trend. We just are shifting CO2 emissions around the globe.

The ice cover in the poles is decreasing and this makes sea levels rise🌧.

These trends⤓🌔 will most likely continue to increase at an accelerating rate in the future (until the end of oil after 2100).

This is changing the climate in the long term, so we need to:

  • adapt (affected populations are asking the world to stop making the water rise)
  • mitigate

Let's check again in the future to see if anything changes the trend in atmospheric CO2 level.

(A one time 10% decrease in CO2 emission is not enough to change the trend, it has to be 10% decrease year on year)
